Service and Agility enhancements support distributed deployments for the Software defined Enterprise WAN

El Segundo, California / 4 June 2014 /PRNewswire/:  ClearPath Networks, Inc., the leader in Distributed Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) platforms to network operators globally, announced significant enhancements to its Virtual Network Services Platform (VSP). VSP v3.9 introduces mobile endpoint support as well as a distributed policy Configuration Orchestrator.  Both enhancements further drive agility for network operators, enabling them to more quickly adapt to the dynamic nature of the emerging software defined enterprise WAN.  Today’s enterprises who are increasingly reliant on public & private clouds and serving applications to a more mobile workforce no longer have a fixed network perimeter.  As a result, the volume and complexity of managing secure connectivity for these mobile users is continuously increasing. As enterprises become increasingly distributed they seek lower network equipment costs, shortened administration time for configuring and managing their distributed endpoints, and elimination of single points of failure.  With VSP 3.9 user accounts are automatically provisioned, configured and managed in real time. ClearPath has once again demonstrated our ability to leverage Network Functions Virtualization to address real world use cases that create game changing value propositions for our customers” said Cliff Young, ClearPath CEO. “ClearPath’s market-leading Distributed NFV technology drives transformational cost efficiencies, flexibility and scalability that serves the distributed mobile enterprise.” According to Infonetics, seven billion new smartphones and tables are forecast to ship worldwide over the next five years. “Given the accelerating adoption of mobile-centric networking and cloud services, many enterprises are adopting software defined approaches to managing their WAN, increasingly relying on virtual network services and virtual network overlays”, added Peter Lee, ClearPath’s Chief Technology Officer. “Enterprises need network anywhere.  That includes private & public clouds as well as at their corporate premise gateway.  With VSP v3.9 we have added a major control plane upgrade to our Policy Configuration Orchestrator to provide enhanced service configuration & deployment as well as policy management to enable more agile virtual machine deployment into any cloud resource” Lee added.
