Platform Upgrade Supports Seamless Network Service Virtualization EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA  December 3, 2012/PRNewswire/:  ClearPath Networks, Inc., a provider of cloud-based virtual networking solutions to telecommunications service providers and enterprises, announced today a major upgrade to its Virtual Network Services Platform (VSP). VSP now activates and manages virtualized cloud-based services to a scale that supports an entire service provider customer base. “Many of our larger telecom and cloud service provider customers want to bundle new  network services to differentiate their existing offerings, “ said Cliff Young, ClearPath Chief Executive. “The challenge has been scaling deployments beyond dozens to hundreds of thousands of endpoints at extremely low per unit costs. That is what our new platform now enables.” In 2003, ClearPath invented cloud-managed networking for small and medium businesses (SMB) and distributed enterprises. In 2010 it launched VSP to enable service providers to leverage their own clouds to deliver differentiated, margin-rich propositions for their SMB, mobile, cloud and enterprise customers. ClearPath’s new version 3.75 VSP release now enables seamless integration into existing broadband, VPN and mobile services with ClearPath’s wide range of networking, security and management services. Networking services include VPN, firewall, load balancing, and failover; security services include anti-virus, content filtering, intrusion detection and prevention; and management services include end user activation and management, equipment and network health, bandwidth utilization. VSP employs the OpenStack cloud operating system, Quantum networking, Open vSwitch and virtual API service orchestration to enable in-line Layer 3-7 network service deployment without the need to modify the underlying network fabric. The new VSP release also includes enhanced RESTful APIs that automates service deployments on MPLS networks, CRM integration for streamlined account activation and ordering, and end user portal authorization. With VSP 3.75 service providers can leverage virtual networking as cloud managed network services to create differentiated propositions that add value and improve the experience of existing cloud and network service customers at lower costs than were previously possible. Service providers can now offer easy to use web based management for a range of network services that are transparently deployed to the end-customer on demand. “For many of our service provider customers, VSP 3.75 is a technology breakthrough that is a real game changer.  Value added services can be deployed at such low cost points they can be bundled in to existing offerings to substantially enhance competitiveness,” Young added.
