Cliff Young – Founder & CEO

Cliff Young is the founder and CEO of ClearPath, an industry leader in virtualized network services platforms. Cliff leads ClearPath with a focus on driving measureable results for the customer through a dedication to a shared team vision & solid execution by each individual. For over 10 years, Cliff has long been a leading proponent of the cloud based network services model as the basis for delivering high value & low cost network & security services to distributed enterprises. With the emergence of cloud and mobile services, enterprises have become increasingly highly distributed and cloud based networking has quickly emerged as the future model of networking for both enterprises and service providers globally. Cliff has been and remains active in the cloud and open networking community. He was a founding member of the OpenStack foundation and is active in the European Technology Standards Institute Network Functions Virtualization (ETSI NFV) working group among others. Prior to founding ClearPath, Cliff founded InternetConnect, which became was the fastest growing managed network & security Services Company selling into SMB customers. Young has raised over $225M in debt and equity from leading venture capital and private equity firms for his entrepreneurial ventures. Having received a B.A. from UCLA, Cliff attended UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management and California State University Northridge MBA Program.

Michael Brenner – Senior Vice President of Product Strategy

Michael Brenner is responsible for driving ClearPath’s Product Strategy & Standardization. Previous to his time at ClearPath, Michael acted as the Senior Architect and Director in the CloudBand Business Unit of Alcatel-Lucent and was responsible for CloudBand’s NFV platform architectural vision and NFV standardization strategy, leveraging his experience gained in the development of complex Service, Application and Network Management projects in his career with Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies and Alcatel-Lucent. Mr. Brenner is also currently vice-chair of ETSI NFV ISG and serves as an alternate Board member of OPNFV. Brenner’s professional distinctions include the Open Mobile Alliance Excellence Award for Outstanding Contributions (2007) and the Best Presentation Award (ICIN 2009). He has published numerous technical papers, and co-authored the book “The Open Mobile Alliance – Delivering Service Enablers for Next-Generation Applications” (John Wiley and Sons, 2008). Last but not least, in November 2014 he was awarded the first ETSI NFV ISG Excellence Award for his contributions to this forum, in particular for the resolution of Management and Orchestration issues.


Marc Cohn – Senior Vice President of Marketing

Marc Cohn is the Senior Vice President of Marketing for ClearPath Networks based in San Jose, and responsible for ClearPath’s marketing, branding, and strategic messaging. Marc has been a major contributor to the Software Defined Networking (SDN) community, as a senior leader of the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), and the sole Silver Member representative on the OpenDaylight Board of Directors. He also participates on the ETSI Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) ISG where he advises the senior leadership on PR and outbound messaging. He is the editor of the ETSI NFV leadership Blog, and NFV Insider series on SDxCentral, one of the most popular Blogs on NFV. Prior to joining ClearPath Networks, Marc was a major contributor to Ciena’s SDN initiatives, and formerly held senior marketing and product management roles with IP Infusion, Amdocs, Lucent Technologies, and Alidian Networks. Marc earned a MS EE degree from the University of Southern California where he was a Hughes Fellow, and was the first Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Missouri.

Peter Lee

Peter Lee – Chief Technology Officer

Peter Lee leads Software and Infrastructure Engineering at ClearPath where he is responsible for driving technology innovation and strategic vision across the company’s products and services. He joined ClearPath in 2004 with a focus on engineering high scalability network security software Prior to joining ClearPath, Peter served as the Chief Technology Officer at Elixar Inc., where he pioneered 802.11 wireless network analysis and integrated network solutions that enabled secure management of complex wireless infrastructure. Earlier in his career, he helped manage information security systems at Duke University’s Office of Information Technology where he developed cutting-edge network protocol analyzers and real-time security applications. He is an avid practitioner of pragmatic programming principles and a strong advocate of open source development and open standards-based technology initiatives. Peter holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering from Duke University.

Andy Libuser

Andrew Libuser – Vice President of Strategic Alliances

Andy joined ClearPath in 2012. He is responsible for developing key customer & channel partnerships. Andy was previously general manager for BT’s Media & Broadcast division and BT’s Converged Solutions division. Andy also served as Director of Sprint’s IP Product Management and Global Sales Support organizations. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from University of California at Berkeley, and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgetown University.
