The Intrusion Detection and Prevention System will perform real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on any network environment provided by ClearPath Networks. It can perform protocol analysis, content searching/matching and can be used to detect a variety of attacks and probes, such as buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, SMB probes, OS fingerprinting attempts, and much, much more.

ClearPath’s intrusion detection and prevention services use flexible rules language to determine which traffic should be discarded or passed, as well as a detection engine that utilizes a modular plug in architecture to enhance performance and reduce “false positives”, a typical challenge associated with this type of service.
